John and Tati’s 7-year story began during the summer of 2018, while John was interning in NYC and living on the Upper West Side (teetering on Harlem, let’s be honest). While they had both been at Colgate and overlapped for two years at that point, they still had no idea who the other was.

It wasn’t until they attended a birthday party together that Tati's friend brought up to her: "By the way... John is single, and he is a good prospect". John’s interest came as a surprise, since the first time they officially met was during Game 7 of the NBA finals when Tati was rolling her eyes and saying “wowww… go sports… this is so much fun…”. She now understands the gravity of that situation.

After returning to school in the fall of 2018, John and Tati found themselves constantly wanting to spend time together. It wasn't until one October evening in 2018 that Tati popped the question: "So, do you want to be my boyfriend or not?"

Fast-forwarding to 2025, after starting to build a life together in NYC, it was John’s turn to do the asking. The engagement took place in New Hampshire, where both of their families were gathered to celebrate together all weekend long <3
